Bridewell's new Director in post
For some while now, trustees have been concerned to take a more strategic approach to the work of Bridewell Gardens. We are confident that we provide an excellent service to our Gardeners and that their road to recovery is helped enormously through the therapeutic horticulture available in the wonderful setting of the gardens.
However, we have not had sufficient resources to promote this service to key stakeholders in the field of mental health, to those who might be able to fund the service and to the general public. This work is seen as critical to ensure that Bridewell Gardens is sufficiently robust to be able to continue its role in the long term in the face of potential changes in funding, demand and complexity.
We are delighted to have recruited Ruth Madder to help us in this vital task. Her appointment, from 1 April 2019, completes the changes that have taken place in staffing over the last 8 months. Together with the strengthening of the Trustee Board, the new staff structure gives Bridewell a very strong team to take the organisation forward.
We can never predict the future with accuracy but we are confident that we are well placed to enable Bridewell Gardens to continue with the excellent work for which it has become known around Oxfordshire
